Mr. Sowah is the Chief Executive Officer of Celltel Ghana Ltd, operators of the Zain mobile network, and was prior to that Chief Officer of Onetouch, the Mobile Division of Ghana Telecom and a member of the 6 man interim management committee appointed by the Government of Ghana to manage Ghana's biggest telecommunications company prior to its privatization(by the end of 2007).
He is a multi talented and motivated individual with over 15 years of international experience in executive management, management consulting and Information technology having worked in Big 5 and Fortune 500 companies in the US and several African countries.
With focus and dedication, Philip managed to turn around the fortunes of Onetouch and increased its customer base from 140,000 when he took over in mid 2005 to over a million subscribers as at the end of Quarter 1, 2007.
He holds degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Washington University, St Louis, Missouri and a degree in Physics from Grinnell College, Iowa in the USA. (Partly culled from the Commonwealth of Nations’ webpage).
